GOVERNING BODIES
G-RAP recently changed its governance structure. From 2008 onwards, the
programme will be governed by a nine member Programme Board
comprising of individuals from civil society, parliament and donors. The
Programme Board leads on strategy, policies and priorities for the
Programme, and on the external relations of the Programme.
A three person Grant Selection Sub-Committee is chosen
from among the Board membership. Beneficiaries of the G-RAP Fund cannot
be members of the Selection Sub-Committee.
The Funders Committee, comprising of participating donor
representatives, has an advisory function, with special responsibilities in
fiduciary risk management, monitoring and evaluations. The lead donor of
the Funders Committee contracts Programme Management.
The Programme Management Team acts as secretariat to the
Programme Board and the Funders Committee, and manages all aspects of the
grant-making procedures and processes.
The change of the structure and the new division of roles and
responsibilities were approved by the Funders Committee and confirmed by
the Advisory Board, which then turned itself into the new Programme Board
at its session of January 28th 2008 (for minutes of this
