Background information

SEND-Ghana is a registered non-governmental organisation operating in Ghana since 1998. It started off from the three poorest regions in Ghana; Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions and based on the impact made and the request from various quarters of civil society, the operational area was expanded to include 18 poorestdistricts in southern Ghana, mainly from the Volta, Central, Greater Accra and Eastern regions. SEND has a seven member board of directors; it has a country office in Tamale and a regional office in Accra, and is supported by five field offices.
